A catalog they can actually search
The public page introduces the business and lists services. Visitors can search, sort, and filter the catalog.
Booking, made beautifully simple
Modernize is the white-label appointment platform for local businesses that want every booking to feel unmistakably their own. One installation is one business, in Hungarian and English.

One system. A better rhythm.
A thoughtful customer journey on the outside. Calm operational control on the inside.
Customer journey
A visitor can go from the catalog to a confirmed time without signing up. A manage link, or a later account, is there when they need to change something.
The public page introduces the business and lists services. Visitors can search, sort, and filter the catalog.
They choose a free day and time from what is actually open.
They leave contact details and answer that service’s custom questions. When a question asks for a file, they can upload a private one.
A promo code can be applied, then the booking is paid on site or online. The privacy notice is accepted before it is sent.
The success screen gives a secure link to manage the booking. A confirmed booking can be added to Google Calendar.
If a day is full, they can join the waitlist. When a place opens, the next person is offered the time.
With the manage link, or from their account, they can view, cancel, or move the booking. A prepaid booking can request a refund.
Sign-in is email and password, or Google, and Facebook when that installation includes it. They can update their profile, export their data, or delete the account.
Payments
Money follows the booking. Online card payment is a deployment choice: it runs when Stripe is part of that installation.
Each service is paid on site or in advance. Online payment uses Stripe and can take the full price or a deposit.
A code takes a percentage or a fixed amount off. It can be limited by date, by how often it is used, and by which services it covers.
A refund can start from the customer, an admin, or an automatic process. Approval sends it through Stripe.
Invoicing can be turned on, with the seller bank, payment method, document prefix, deadline, and language. Issued documents can be reviewed, and a new invoice can be started from a booking.
If payment arrives after the hold has ended, the booking is confirmed only when the time is still free.
Catalog
The bookable offer is a catalog plus rules for when that catalog can actually be booked. Times follow the business timezone, including daylight saving.
Create, edit, reorder, and turn categories on or off. A category that is still in use cannot be deleted.
Each service has a description, price, duration, payment, capacity, and a public page. Turning it off hides it from the catalog; earlier bookings stay.
A question can be text, a number, a dropdown, or a private file. The booking keeps the question and the answer as they were.
Set weekly hours for the business, a category, or one service, plus one-off closures. A more specific schedule replaces the broader one.
The working day
Admin sees live bookings. Every change checks that the person is an administrator on the server, not only in the browser.
The dashboard is a snapshot of the day. The calendar shows a day or a week, and can jump back to today.
A separate queue lists stalled notices, payments still waiting to confirm, and refund problems. From there you open the booking or retry.
Search and filter the booking list. The booking page shows the price, answers, files, and what has happened since.
An admin can approve or decline an on-site booking, cancel, reschedule, mark the visit complete or a no-show, and retry a failed notice.
Create a booking with the customer’s details, and choose whether a confirmation is sent.
The guest list summarizes each customer and their booking history. Open a booking when you need to change the appointment itself.
Choose a date range and see confirmations, cancellations, revenue, and how each service is doing.
Date and time fields follow the language of the screen. What is saved stays in the business timezone.
The public site
What customers see is configured in admin: brand, contact, legal text, and a footer that always offers the same four legal pages.
Set the name, logo, images, colors, language, currency, timezone, and the contact details customers see.
A gallery appears when an image has been uploaded. A map can be embedded, and it loads only after the visitor chooses to see it.
Privacy and terms are written separately in Hungarian and English. The footer links to privacy, terms, cookies, and Impressum.
The site can publish a short public description for search, plus a sitemap. The cookie list is short, and there are no advertising pixels.
Settings and privacy
Settings hold the switches an administrator actually uses. A few larger capabilities are decided when the installation is set up, not from this marketing site.
Turn booking email on, add SMS where that channel is set up, and choose whether new on-site bookings wait for approval.
Set a VAT rate while the price customers see stays the same. New bookings record the net amount, the VAT, and the gross amount.
Connect a calendar you can write to. Creating, moving, and cancelling a booking is copied to Google Calendar. Events that start there do not change what can be booked here.
An admin can erase a customer’s data for an email address. The account, waitlist, and private files are removed, and bookings that must be kept are anonymized.
Requests to restrict or object to the use of personal data are recorded and handled. Waitlist notices to that email can be paused.
Hungarian and English privacy text and terms are edited with a preview. Each publish keeps a revision that can be restored.
Card payment, email, SMS, calendar sync, the map, the waitlist, and promo codes are part of a deployment when that installation includes them.
In the background
Scheduled work keeps notices, payments, the waitlist, and retention moving after the booking is made.
Messages go out for bookings, changes, cancellations, refunds, and the waitlist. Reminders can be sent by email, and by SMS when that is set up.
Failed notices, calendar updates, and automatic refunds are retried and logged.
Customer data exports are sent and then expire. Unpaid holds and waitlist offers expire so the time can be offered again.
Exports, notices, and payment records are kept for a limited time. Personal data on closed bookings is then removed; the booking row stays for analytics.

Create a branded online home where clients can discover, decide, and book with confidence.

A simpler operation
01
Set the brand, contact details, map embed address, language, currency, and timezone.
02
Add Hungarian and English privacy and terms, plus Impressum. A production setup rejects an incomplete Impressum.
03
Create categories, services, custom questions, and reminders.
04
Add weekly hours and one-off closures.
05
Stripe, email, optional SMS, and Google Calendar.
06
Try a full on-site booking and, if you use it, an online payment — including the email, the manage link, the admin view, and calendar sync.
Modernize
Every Modernize deployment is one business, one location, and one shared calendar. Customer data stays in that deployment’s own Vercel hosting and Supabase database.
The booking site, guest checkout, and customer accounts are not for people under 16. There is no age gate. An adult books a service that is for a child. A guest without an account asks for access, correction, export, or deletion at the privacy contact email, and should receive an answer without undue delay, within one calendar month.
